Beijing Travel Plan in 2010

Before the 2008 Olympic games Beijing was in a cloud of construction dust. Venues being built, new highways, factories closed, all major landmarks renovated, new Beijing hotels of all stars going up and old ones getting a makeover. Now that the Olympics have past and the athletes and their fans gone, we normal folk can enjoy the new Beijing.

There is a new highway out to the Great Wall, decreasing travel time and making the journey much safer and relaxing. The Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven have all had paint jobs. Beijing Hotel chains overbuilt for the Olympics and now there is a glut of Beijing hotel rooms of all stars. Some of the most opulent Beijing hotels in the world are in Beijing and are good value for the money.

The traffic situation has also improved, with the opening of several new subway lines and the continuation of the rules banning private cars from the road one day a week depending on their license number. Shanghai is also undergoing a major facelift for the 2010 World Fair. The Bund pedestrian road is completely being rebuilt. Hotels Beijing and tourist attractions are being renovated.
